For you and your family.

We know there is nothing you wouldn’t endure to bring home your child. But just because you would doesn’t mean you should. At Graceful Adoptions, we feel that adoption should be a simpler and personal experience. Some things we can’t control so we help you get through these steps as efficiently as possible. But other things we can control – like the amount of paperwork you have to complete – so wherever it’s possible, we’ve streamlined our process. See for yourself…

With Graceful Adoptions your dreams of a family really will come true in six
simple steps:

Step One

Work with one of our certified adoption specialists to complete your adoption Home Study.
An adoption Home Study is a legal requirement for any adoption. This can be the longest part of the process so starting early is the smart thing to do. The Home Study basically ensures that the parents are ready to accept the responsibility of raising an adopted child. From the condition of your home and your neighborhood to reviewing your medical, criminal and financial records, this is a thorough examination. Once you have completed your Home Study, the adoption process really begins.

Step Two

Complete and submit your Agency Application and Application Fee to Graceful Adoptions, along with your adoption Home Study to Graceful Adoptions. This step helps determine if you qualify for our program. We will review your information and immediately contact you to schedule an interview.

Step Three

Conduct an interview to ensure we are the right agency to work for you.
Let's take a few minutes for you, your spouse and a Graceful Adoptions representative to ensure we are comfortable working together and that we can meet your objectives.

Step Four

Review and complete the Graceful Adoptions Agency Agreement and we’re ready to make your dreams come true.
The Agency Agreement outlines our commitment to you as well as our refund policy. Once the Agency Agreement is signed and notarized, it should be returned to Graceful Adoptions with your Family Activation Fee.

Step Five

Complete your Family Profile and Family Planning Guide that is used to match your family with an expecting mother.
The Family Planning Guide outlines your minimum requirements for a successful match such as race and gender. It is completed by you as well as by expecting mothers. This allows us to connect you with a expecting mother whose answers most closely match your own.

The Family Profile tells your story to expecting mothers. Why they should choose you as the best family for their child. It’s an important story to tell, so we make sure your information is absolutely perfect. In fact, all profiles are professionally edited. Upon approval of the profile, we then share your story with expecting mothers.

Step Five

The child is born and placed in your home.
When the baby is born you sign a placement agreement and take your child home. After a time period, specified by state law, the baby’s mother signs the Release of Custody. It’s after this step that a hearing takes place and the Termination of Parental Rights are ordered by the court.

Step Six

We help finalize your adoption.
Like the adoption Home Study, you are legally required to complete the Post-Placement review during a specified time frame. This process ensures the child is being cared for and the adoption placement was successful. Upon completion, you will then work with an attorney to legally finalize the adoption. A final court hearing will be held and the adoption decree will be awarded. Your child will then receive a new birth certificate with the name you choose.
