We pre-screen our Adoptive Parents.

That's why at Graceful Adoptions, before any potential parent is accepted, we review every aspect of their ability to be the kind of parents who make great childhoods possible.

At Graceful Adoptions every adoptive parent undergoes:

• State criminal background checks
• Federal criminal background checks (They are fingerprinted and checked against the FBI database)
• Sex offender registry checks
• Child Abuse background checks

We also require:

• A letter from their doctor stating they are free of any medical, mental or emotional condition that would affect their
  
  ability to parent
• Proof of insurance
• Proof of employment
• Proof that they are financially stable
• 
  In addition, personal interviews are conducted:

• Their home is visited to ensure it is safe (first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc) and offers adequate room for a child
• Their emotional stability is reviewed including their marital history and assessment of their marital relationship
• We discuss their (and their extended families') attitude towards adoption
  
• Discipline methods are reviewed and discussed
• We review their ability to provide for the child's physical and emotional needs

And, all Graceful Adoptions parents have to take seven classes to ensure they are ready to parent your child.
